When I was young, my first zelda experience was Link's Awakening. And I loved every second of it.
Ever since then I've been a fan of the "Top down style" Zelda's.

I was quite literally raised on the Legend of Zelda franchise... My mother played LoZ and Zelda II on the NES while she was pregnant with me, and from age 4-7 or so I'd always sit and watch her play and then I started playing the games myself until I got my GC at age 11 or so and got Ocarina of Time, Master Quest and Windwaker. Soon got Four Swords Adventures, and then Majora's Mask, A Link to the Past, Phantom Hourglass, Spirit Tracks and Minish Cap. The only ones I've yet to play are Link's Awakening and the Oracles games, though I'm rather familiarized with the plots as is.
(EDIT: Somehow forgot Twilight Princess in there. Played that one to hell and back, for sure)
For those who are LoZ fans, perhaps the abnormally obsessed creep-tacular ones like myself, when it comes to timeline theories...

if i remember right...i played legend of zelda link to the past got halfway through got stuck at the second dungeon in the twilight realm and the same thing happened in wind waker got stuck halfway through. =/ I did complete twilight princess,and phantom hourglass though.
