Keep in mind that this is a Pony forum. We're trying to go for Happy, so an entire "Black on black" theme is definitely not going to happen.

IMPORTANT: Color Scheme
Even though we have a suggestion forum, many people aren't suggesting color themes. Right now is very crucial for us in terms of Color themes, so this thread is being made for everypony to discuss themes. You are to ONLY discuss themes. You are not to discuss anything else. Try to be as descriptive as possible when discussion the theme so we can accommodate.
Keep in mind that this is a Pony forum. We're trying to go for Happy, so an entire "Black on black" theme is definitely not going to happen.

I'm not too partial. I think it would be more important to match it to Sabb's designs. I think whatever he wants to work with would be best.

I posted this because Sab wants to know what to work with =P. Having a color scheme that's permanent would make Sab's job much easier XD

Re: IMPORTANT: Color Scheme
To be honest I'd say go with neutral - dark colours. bright colours are mainly stress to the eyes. The colours now look nice to me though. Lilac/grey and purple seem to be nice on the eyes and look pretty too.

I agree with Arch. The current colours are nice.

Re: IMPORTANT: Color Scheme
Black or dark grays. Non too enthusiastic about screaming primaries as forum color. Bioware.social has a really good scheme that makes it easy to read. White is most def a no-no. It hurts my eyes on longer visits.
Dark it has to be anyway. Text can be white or gray.
Current is bit too light.

Re: IMPORTANT: Color Scheme
I do agree that it's quite bright. It's probably because I'm not a avid fan of bright colors.

Re: IMPORTANT: Color Scheme
As everyone else is saying, the current scheme is a little to frilly and bright for my taste. Perhaps a dark sky blue would cover it nicely?

Re: IMPORTANT: Color Scheme
I'd be okay with grey, but it does not fit the theme of the site.

Re: IMPORTANT: Color Scheme
Theme of the site is what we make of it. Screaming primaries and rainbow color scheme WILL prevent me from posting.
Make primary as dark blue, as the dark grey is now and change text to white/gray. Black to the now dark grey areas.
That would make the theme Luna, the missing pony. Then it fit's the theme of pony.

Re: IMPORTANT: Color Scheme
Personally, that just seems a little TOO dark. But I can work around that. For the most part I'd just like to avoid having white text as the default.Cthulhu-Pony wrote:Theme of the site is what we make of it. Screaming primaries and rainbow color scheme WILL prevent me from posting.

Re: IMPORTANT: Color Scheme
To me the current grey theme is great in terms of brightness, but it seems.. dull. It seems like it needs more colour. What that colour would be I don't know (I class white, grey and black in combination as dull colours.)

Re: IMPORTANT: Color Scheme
Yeah, this is perfect as far as the brightness goes. It really does need more color tho.
And why the hate towards light text? It works really well IMO.

Brighter text, yes. white text is hard on the eyes to read for some. so no.

Re: IMPORTANT: Color Scheme
Possibly, I'll have to try it out and see how it looks, but it's really because we've spent our lives reading black text. Reading white text on black just seems so backwards. But I bet it can work if it's tweaked just right.Cthulhu-Pony wrote:Yeah, this is perfect as far as the brightness goes. It really does need more color tho.

This is exactly what I had in mind as well.
Darker colors tend to work better on forums, and since ponies are usually so bright it will contrast well.
